System Engineer

Job Responsibilities:
Deployment & Maintenance:
Deploy, configure, and maintain servers and associated infrastructure, ensuring they meet current and future demands.
Conduct regular capacity planning and resource scaling to accommodate traffic growth and maintain system reliability.
Performance Optimization:
Optimize configurations for peak performance and responsiveness, including fine-tuning settings and implementing effective caching strategies.
Monitor performance metrics, analyze logs, and proactively address issues to maintain optimal service levels.
Incident Response:
Respond swiftly to related incidents and outages, ensuring minimal downtime and prompt resolution.
Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery plans, regularly testing and updating to ensure readiness.
Security Management:
Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery plans, regularly testing and updating to ensure readiness.
Determining and implementing purchasing policies in accordance with company strategies.
Collaboration & Integration:
Work closely with network engineers, developers, and security professionals to ensure seamless service integration.
Provide expert support and training to internal teams, enhancing their understanding and use of services.
Innovation & Improvement:
Continuously assess and recommend infrastructure improvements, staying informed of industry trends and emerging technologies.
Implement automation tools and scripts to streamline tasks and enhance operational efficiency.
Support & Communication:
Collaborate with customer support teams to address user concerns and inquiries effectively.
Create and maintain detailed documentation for configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.
Reporting & Analysis:
Regularly analyze performance, generating reports to assess effectiveness and identify improvement areas.
Use scripting and programming skills to automate related processes and data analysis.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in enterprise Linux environments.
Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
“Automation-first” mindset and ability to explain complex solutions in a simple way.
In-depth knowledge of RedHat Enterprise or Oracle Linux.
Experience in kernel tuning for high-throughput web applications, and bottleneck identification in CPU, Memory, and I/O.
Proficiency in DNS management and application load balancing for scalability and high availability.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Nginx and Elastic Search.
Experience with global monitoring systems.
Configuration management expertise using orchestration tools like Ansible.
Proficient in programming/scripting languages (BASH, Shell, etc.).
Experience with container virtualization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
Competence in working within distributed/cloud computing environments.
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with CDN and streaming technologies.
Datacenter management experience.
