What is Anycast DNS ?
DNS service is used to transform domain names into IP addresses. The domain name, which we enter into our browser, initially goes to DNS servers and tries to determine the IP address. We access the domain that we enter into our browser according to the IP address provided by the DNS server. Conventional DNS servers work Unicast (one-to-one); if the requesting DNS server is at a distant location, response time extends. And this extends the time to determine the IP addresses of websites.
Anycast (one-to-many) is an internet routing protocol which is used to assign the same IP addresses to more than one server on different geographical locations. Anycast DNS service is a new generation DNS service which is distributed throughout more than one geographically dispersed servers.
Anycast DNS forwards DNS requests to the server which is in the best route in terms of its own operation principles (generally the closest server). Thanks to this, DNS response times become much shorter and access to web pages gets faster. Thanks to Medianova infrastructure, you can add to your speed by taking advantage of these features.
As the leading CDN provider of Turkey and the Middle East, Medianova provides 80% faster service compared to foreign companies, with its Anycast DNS services which are integrated with the biggest local operators in Istanbul and Ankara.
